Alana Weekend

Alana came to visit this weekend and we had tons of fun. We all tried to go see Grown Ups Friday, but ooops, sold out. So I still haven't seen it, but I will! She and I went shopping Saturday and man the sales were everywhere! I got some really cute things for Maelea and another baby due around the same time :) Then we met our friends at the Mesquite Rodeo and had a good time there. Too bad all that fun made my back feel like a cement block was shoved inside the lower part. After church today we came home and all I've done is work on a few headbands and rest. Here are a few pics of the fun.

Our next appointment is Wednesday....maybe we'll get some good news!

cute little things

I'm working on setting up at Etsy shop as we speak. I've got it started, but I am fine tuning the details and all that. I will post something when I get it up and official. The name is sew1983.............and here are a few of the things that I will sell on there.

I made these for Stephanie and Ingrid......turned out, she made some of the same kinds of things for Maelea! So funny.

And here are a few more examples of things I'll be selling on there.

So there you have it, my start to a little biz. I hope to start doing some tie dye stuff too, but if this baby comes, all will be put on hold, probably should have started sooner! :)

Alana is coming today, should be here in a little bit. And we're going to see Grown Ups tonight, can't wait for that!

No baby news as of today, but the doctors visit went well and things are still on track!

Field Trip

Last week we visited Ham's Orchard. I've lived here for four years and I hear all about it every Summer. So Alex and I decided to have lunch there and it was great. I had a cheeseburger and he had a chicken sandwich then we went inside for ice cream........oh that ice cream was fabulous! They only have two flavors; peach and strawberry. So I picked strawberry and although it melted down my cup onto my hand, then my dress, then on my leg to my foot, I laughed and finished the cup before we were home. Here are a couple of pictures of our field trip.

Now it is so darn hot I don't even step outside. But today we go to the doctor so I will be putting on makeup and actually fixing my hair, haven't done that since Sunday!
Baby Maelea will be here soon!!!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day Dad! I hope you have a great day and I can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks! Sorry, I don't recall a funny story for this post, but I always remember your sermon about the man and his son that got caught in the mechanism under the draw bridge. I know that's a serious story, but because you use the word mechanism alot, I usually use it when I try to act like I know what I'm talking about when I don't! love you lots!

I also want to say Happy Father's Day to my husband because this is his first father's day. Maelea will be here in a couple of weeks! I love you Alex.

Projects

As promised here are some pictures of projects that are now complete. They may seem simple, but they were fun and something that makes me happy!
First up, my wallpaper rack. I've been wanting one of these since I fell in love with wrapping paper. I looked for a neat one and then realized, I'm not paying that much money and I think I can make that....so I did!

Now for Maelea's room. Honestly, it is ready to go. All we need now is for her to be here!
Here's a picture of the long awaited alphabet, Alex finally finished it today and I loooove it!
We ordered it from back40life on etsy. .

I also did a very simple project so she would have her name in her room. The circles are cardboard cutouts and I just freehanded the letters on there, so easy, then hot glued the ribbons to the back. Hot glue is my best friend.

And finally, Turmes. He's such a cutie and I love him. Story behind the name: Alex can't do a "project" without goofing around and playing. So as he uncovered and rubbed each letter on the wall, he would say something funny about the animal or the letter or just dance. So when he got to the the letter i, he said, oh this guy's name is Irmis. So we laughed about that. Then, as I stated before, I found this adorable turtle stool at a garage sale and had to have it. It was a light wood color and had a hideous plaid cushion on top that was not in the best shape. So I recovered the cushion with the same fabric as her bedskirt and painted the body the same color green as the letters on her name. Then I said, what's his name? And Alex said, Turmes, you know like Irmis the Iguana on the wall. So here he is, little cute guy.

That's it for now. I had two days of workshops for school, so I'm tired. But now I can sleep in some more and maybe find a few new projects!!!

getting close

Well I'm 36 weeks along now and getting bigger by the minute! I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and then after that one, they will be every week! I can tell I will miss feeling her move all the time and miss seeing elbows and feet pressing against my stomach. It has been so wonderful to be off work and be at home. Sleeping in is amazing on a weekday and so refreshing. I've been working on several projects and when Alex helps me finish one of them I will post pictures soon!

Here's a picture of when we went to shop and eat last weekend.

More updates to come!

Maternity shots

Here are a few maternity shots of us...thanks mom! There were lots, but these are my favorites.

For some reason it wouldn't let me upload all of the pictures that I wanted to, so maybe I'll do some more later!
