It has been four weeks since Maelea was born. I've been putting this together today for you to enjoy. It brought tears to my eyes because her life is so amazing to me, the day she was born was amazing. Each day I get to spend with her is amazing.
Ok, I realize that I've taken ALOT of pictures of Maelea where she is laying on the couch and they are all sideways. I can't help it, it is so easy to take them when she's sleeping and she looks so darn sweet, so I have lots. And just for that, look at how cute those lips are....
And a couple of me and my girl...not sideways.
And Alex has spent all of his evenings here with us instead of playing basketball....because he hurt his ankle. And this is what I have to force him to do.
Maelea: "Boy I sure slept alot this morning." Dad: "Yes, you did. But you didn't sleep much yesterday or last night. Now let me give you a nose five and try to make you laugh." Maelea: "Ok Dad, I love looking at you."
Maelea sure is changing every day, it is so amazing. And her diaper is changed every few hours and I don't think we've had a day go by in the past couple of weeks that she hasn't peed or pooped on a blanket or clothes or something. So fun.
Here's a little video of the stinker doing her leg trick. I think we're getting close to rolling over.
She's trying to wake up right now, so I better go!
Maelea was enjoying some tummy time, being so good.
She's really getting good at turning her head from side to side when we talk to her and she pushes up some too.
But yesterday Alex said "look at her legs!" And I was like "oh my word, that's crazy!" And then I captured the little gymnasts moment.
She did this a few times and every time we were amazed because her legs were going up so high behind her back and she was keeping her face off the ground too. Then she said, "that's enough mom and dad, I'm tired and need to rest."
She had a great eating and sleeping night last night, who knows if this will continue, but I will enjoy it for now! Oh yeah, no photo shoot yet, still peeling.
I'm getting a little restless with the no exercise or hard work thing so we busted out the jogging stroller from mom and dad and loaded up our little lady for a nice walk. This is how Maelea started out, wide awake and loving it. We had to put her blanket across the front of the stroller to keep the wind out, but the wind felt fantastic to us. Can you tell that we were glad to be out together with our super fun stroller? Well we were and Maelea has one silly dad, which I love to death. Yes, he tucked his shirt in and pulled up his shorts, in case you didn't notice. Don't worry, I didn't jog or do anything I shouldn't do. Alex jogged a little and that stroller is one smooth ride because it didn't even phase Maelea. In fact, this is how she ended the trip. And this is how her dad ended the trip.
And I wonder, is it funny or just being a mom that I was excited to upload these pictures and make this post? It sure is alot easier to post things now and more fun too. Hopefully today we'll take some posed shots of Maelea, her skin is just about done peeling! Just had to add one more of her in her favorite nap time spot.
Look at my cute little calf.......eieio Yes, this ensemble comes with a tail.....how cute.
And here's a little video of her, awake.
I'm just loving being here with her every day, every single day. I'm sure not thinking about going back to school right now, just enjoying loving on her and spending time with Alex.

Maelea is two weeks old and doing wonderful! I really want to take some more photos of her but she's peeling like a little lizard so we'll wait for some sweet little baby pics, hopefully she won't be too old by the time we get to it!
She's really starting to sleep better at night and only wakes up when she's hungry, eats a little, then goes right back to sleep. But...she's really starting to fight sleeping during the day. I think she knows she's tired but doesn't want to miss anything so she fights closing her eyes and going to sleep, resulting in a little bit of fussiness. I'm sure not complaining though, she's a fantastic baby!
She is a big smilier and laughs quite a bit in her sleep and it is sooo cute.
I wasn't sure when I would be ready to take Maelea out in public (except for the doctor, that doesn't count to me). But that day turned out to be yesterday. I'm sitting in the back with Maelea and Alex does the driving until I can drive, which technically will be tomorrow.
Guess where we went to lunch? Yes, Chick-fil-a. She's an amazing traveler, sleeps the whole time. So we get to chick-fil-a and it is packed and loud. She got a little startled at first, but then closed her eyes and slept the entire time. Alex and I are the couple you probably talk about at a restaurant because we like to sit beside each other, not across from one another. Well this little chick has changed that. We couldn't see her on the other side of the booth, so I sat beside her and he sat across from me. We couldn't keep from smiling.
Then I had to get some paperwork from the doctor and they got to see her for the first time. Then I said "do you think we can do Target?" And sure enough, she kept on sleeping and was sooo good. Alex just loves me taking pictures of him in public.
Then that was enough and we headed home. She slept until we were about five minutes from the house. We are so blessed and we also hope she keeps this up! I had to take a picture of those cute little bloomers.
And just one more shot or two of my little ladybug. She now weighs 6 pounds 15 ounces and is 20 inches long!
